Scope of application
These General Conditions of Recruitment apply exclusively to the courses of Johan Cruyff Academics International, S.L. (hereinafter “JCI”) contracted via the website www.johancruyffinstitute.com or exclusively by email.
Right of withdrawal
Students have the right to withdraw their enrollment without providing any justification and to obtain reimbursement of the total amount paid by them. The deadline to exercise the right of withdrawal is 14 days from the date of payment of the course.
To exercise their right of withdrawal, students must give written notice to firstname.lastname@example.org of their unequivocal decision to withdraw from the contracted course, before the expiry of the aforementioned period.
In the event of withdrawal, JCI will proceed to refund all payments made by the student, within a maximum period of 14 days after receiving notification of the withdrawal.
Notwithstanding the above, in the case of courses in which digital-only content is supplied, if a student uses their access code during the period of 14 calendar days after contracting the course to access content related to the course, subject or product, they lose their right of withdrawal, in accordance with the provisions of Article 103 m) of Royal Decree 1/2007 of 16 November, approving the revised text of the General Law for the Protection of Consumers and Users, as amended by Law 3/2014 of 27 March, which modifies the text.
Students will also lose their right of withdrawal if, within 14 calendar days after completing their enrollment, they proceed to download any digital-only product content not requiring a password.
Non-payment of enrollment fees
Full payment of the enrollment fee is a prerequisite for validation of the master’s or postgraduate course contract.
If payment is made in installments, the payment obligation shall be deemed concluded the moment all the established installments have been paid.
The cancellation of an enrollment for non-payment within the established time limits will be made automatically by the JCI management and the student will be notified in writing.
Nevertheless, prior to the cancellation of an enrollment, JCI will notify the student of this circumstance, giving them fifteen (15) days to settle the amount due.
Cancellation of enrollment
Without prejudice to the right of withdrawal, in the event of illness or serious accident, a student may request a cancellation of enrollment and a refund of the amount paid in respect of tuition fees for master’s and postgraduate courses, submitting such request up to 15 calendar days before the start of the course.
To process the cancellation of enrollment as provided in the preceding paragraph, a cancellation request will be sent in writing to the program coordinator, including justification of why the cancellation has been requested and proof of the amount paid.
After the end of the said period, requests for cancellation will not be entitled to a refund of the amount paid for tuition fees. The Academic Committee will only evaluate the requests of those students who, for exceptional and duly justified reasons, are prevented from completing the course normally, and will consider offering them the right to access the next course or a possible refund of part of the fees paid.
Any request for full or partial cancellation of the academic program must be sent in writing, with the relevant documentation, to the program coordinator to email@example.com who will refer it to the Academic Committee.
JCI may proceed with the cancellation of an enrollment when an on-campus or online master’s or postgraduate course is canceled for not meeting the minimum number of students.
JCI will also proceed to completely cancel the enrollment of students who do not meet the essential requirements to access the master’s or postgraduate course contracted.
In both cases, the cancellation of an enrollment by JCI will entitle the student to a refund of the total amount paid for tuition fees, though JCI may retain the portion corresponding to the registration fee and student insurance if cancellation is because the student does not meet the essential requirements to access the master’s or postgraduate course.
In the event that JCI is forced to significantly modify an essential element of a contracted course, it will immediately inform the students, who are entitled to (i) opt for cancellation of their enrollment with a refund of the total amount paid by them, or (ii) accept the change and its impact on the price.
Students must notify JCI in writing of their decision within three (3) days of being notified of the modification of essential course conditions. If a student does not notify JCI of their decision as set out above, it is understood that they have chosen to accept the modification, provided it does not involve an increase in the price of the course contracted. If the modification involves an increase in the price of the contracted course, a lack of response by the student within the aforementioned period will mean the cancellation of their enrollment, with entitlement to reimbursement of the total amount paid by them.
If a student exceeds the time established to complete the program for reasons of force majeure, duly substantiated, the Academic Committee may give the student the option of completing the program by joining the next edition of the course at no extra charge. If the delay is not justified, the student may choose to finish the program in the next edition of the course, paying an additional amount of €125 per academic credit.
Any disagreements or complaints that students may have during the development of the courses should be made known to JCI in writing to the address firstname.lastname@example.org, within 30 days after the date of the end of the course.
JCI will address such claims with the utmost diligence.
In any event, JCI offers ON CAMPUS students official complaint forms, which can be found in any of the offices of JCI.
Foreign exchange risk
Students resident in countries outside the Eurozone fully assume the possible exchange risk that may arise from the payment by installment of contracted courses.
Consequently, the student hereby waives all rights to claim a reduction or adjustment of the price established in the special conditions of the contracted course, on the basis of a dramatic fluctuation in the exchange rate between the currency of the country of residence of the student and the euro.
Changes in prices of contracted courses
Any change made by JCI to the prices of courses will not lead to the revision of the price of the courses contracted by students in years prior to the date of such variation, without prejudice to the provisions stipulated in Course modifications.
