On February  22, Andorra will bring together professionals, students and enthusiasts from the esports and video games industry at Esports City Talks Andorra, an event that will serve as a nexus for learning, exchanging ideas and connecting with leaders in this booming business sector.

The conference, organized by Encom and Andorra Business, will include the participation of Víctor Jordán, academic director and manager at Johan Cruyff Institute,  and a PhD student in esports. In a round table moderated by Pere Pérez, founder and CEO of Metacampus, Víctor will discuss the potential of esports as an educational tool, based on practical cases and the needs of the industry itself in terms of training professionals specialized in this sector.

Esports City Talks will group the content into three key themes that define the trajectory and future of a business sector in constant growth that continues to generate great business opportunities around the world. According to the eighth and latest White Paper on Spanish Video Game Development, the esports industry is expected to exceed €2.2 billion in revenue by 2025 and more than 13,000 jobs.

The topics to be discussed will be:

  • Trends and the future of esports: an approach to emerging trends and perspectives that define the future of esports. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about new trends and technologies, and gain a solid understanding of the opportunities that lie ahead in the sector.
  • Gaming and education: an analysis of the transformative potential of video games and esports in education, and how they can be implemented as innovative pedagogical tools, capable of revolutionizing teaching and learning methods and preparing future generations for an increasingly digitalized world.
  • Cities and esports: exploring the dynamic link between modern metropolises and esports, which are becoming a significant economic driver, attracting investment and putting cities on the global map as centers of excellence and digital entertainment.
