As a result of the academic collaboration agreement signed a year ago between the two entities, 33 football and rugby players between 16 and 24 years of age will begin the Sport Management Fundamentals online course on March 4th

At the time of signing, the director of EduSport Academy, Chris Ewing, said: “We are delighted with this collaboration; we have the responsibility to offer our students the best tools to achieve success, both athletically and academically. This agreement adds much value to our academic offer and will allow our athletes to get to know the world of sport management and football business. As a former student of the Johan Cruyff Institute, I know that both organizations share the same values and passion for development and innovation. Therefore, I am convinced that this union will be a guarantee of success.”

EduSport Academy defends the idea that education comes to us in different ways. A simple, but fundamental requirement for success is the desire to improve. Players must have that desire and must understand that the program is about more than just developing on a sporting level. EduSport Academy aims to develop players academically, personally and, of course, athletically. There must be a willingness to be better in everything you do. There is a clear link stemming from a mental state of development between a good student in the classroom and one who progresses more in their sport.

Victor Jordan, academic director of the Johan Cruyff Institute, knows Chris well from his student days and says that he “is committed to starting athletes on a study program at an institution that has supported him in his career as a manager once his career as a player was over”.  And Victor goes on to add that “they are athletes looking for an opportunity in professional sport who, in addition to getting sport training at EduSport Academy, are also investing in their academic training with us.”
