People management in sport and eSports, Johan Cruyff Institute's content menu at SportBizLatam Live

As a learning partner, Johan Cruyff Institute brings knowledge and an exclusive group of experts in eSports and people management in sport to SportBizLatam Live‘s content agenda

Johan Cruyff Institute has prepared an interesting content menu for its participation in the next edition of SportBizLatam Live, which will take place on May 19 and 20 in virtual format. As a learning partner of the event, the institution will have a prominent role in the presentations on the agenda, with panels dedicated to eSports  and people management in sport.

The panel ‘The dream team: high performance management’, scheduled for May 19 from 12:00-12:45 p.m. (Buenos Aires time, 5 hours later in Central European time), will be moderated by Miriam Carreño, professor of talent management and leadership on the People Management in Sport Online course and the Master in Sport Management at Johan Cruyff Institute. Miriam is director of consulting projects at Adecco Group, held the position of director of organization and people at Real Valladolid CF for more than two years and, previously, was human resources officer at Fundación Internacional y para Iberoamérica de Administración y Políticas Públicas (International and Latin American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies). Based on her knowledge, she will be in charge of energizing a talk between Verónica Santana, director of human resources at CONCACAF; Fernando Jaramillo, president of the Major Division of Colombian Football, Víctor Villavicencio, general manager of the Peruvian professional football league at the Peruvian Football Federation and Octavi Anoro, head of LaLiga Global Network.  This panel will focus on how different organizations work to attract and retain talent to improve their sport management and the importance of academic training to stand out in an increasingly competitive and professionalized industry.

The panel ‘Challenge and Opportunities in eSports’, sponsored by Johan Cruyff Institute and scheduled for the May 20th, from 11:00-11:45 a.m. (Buenos Aires time, 5 hours later in Central European time), will be led by Jordi Soler, director of digital and special projects at Mediapro, who will moderate; Gustavo Arellano, head of business development at FIBA; Joan Prats, general manager at JPPRO Barcelona, and Kevin Kim, senior regional lead at EA FIFA Competitive Gaming Entertainment Division. Esports are gaining followers at a voracious pace and the industry needs to catch up with consumer demand. Our four guests will discuss the needs and challenges of its management for about 45 minutes.

Throughout these two days of SportBizLatam Live, there will also be various talks on topics related to sport marketing (fan engagement, sport sponsorship and new sources of income); digital transformation (new technologies applied to the sports industry, disruptive processes and products); sport management (challenges and opportunities for clubs, associations, federations and sports leagues), the entertainment sector (global audiences and fans, creation of content and highlights, new players, streaming and OTT services); innovation and sportech (eSports, performance, data analytics, sports betting and virtual reality) and sports law (renegotiation of sponsorship contracts and image rights). All of these are areas in which every professional in the sports industry needs to be up to date on the latest trends, and which also have an important presence in the Johan Cruyff Institute portfolio.

SportBizLatam Live includes a gamification system for all event attendees who will be able to win, among other prizes, one of two scholarships to study the Digital Marketing in Sport Online Course or the Strategic Planning in Football Online Course at Johan Cruyff Institute.
