Speakers

Sarina Wiegman

"I admire Johan Cruyff for who he was as a footballer, as a coach and especially as a human being.

He saw the power and value of sport for children and founded the Johan Cruyff Foundation and Johan Cruyff Institute.

As a former Physical Education teacher and as a football coach, I know how important it is that sport and play are accessible to every child."

Arsène Wenger

He was not only a great player, he influenced the way football is played today."

David Garrido

It's hard to to think of anyone who's been anywhere near as influential as Johan has in the history of the beautiful game - to me he was a great thinker, a constant innovator, a true trailblazer in how he developed football technically and tactically, and he remains a legendary and inspirational figure."

Marlou van Rhijn

Johan showed that sports is about having fun and that all children should be able to exercise together."

Tanja Dik

My proud link with Johan Cruijff started when seeing the admiration in eyes of local people all around the world after telling them I was Dutch. The effect of his being, as a sportsman but also as a coach to many then and still today. The proudness grew tremendously after becoming CEO of the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Since then I have the privilege to see the world through his eyes on many occasions as his philosophy is still very much part of our daily journey."

Frank Rijkaard

For me Johan is the one’ who got the ball rolling’ and later with his Foundation he also gave the first push for something big on an international social level!"

Ronald Koeman

Johan Cruyff taught me what it takes on and off the field to become a professional footballer."

Jordi Cruyff

Every time we see a new Cruyff Court open or new graduates receive their Cruyff Institute diplomas, I feel very proud of my father and his legacy. Our duty as a family is to keep his legacy alive and this summit gives us the chance to show how grateful we are to everyone who helps us to do that."

Johan Cruyff Foundation

The Johan Cruyff Foundation supports and develops impactful sports and play projects all around the world. We focus on children and youngsters for whom sport isn’t a guaranteed part of their lives. We put this into practice by sports projects for children with special needs, by setting up outdoor sports facilities in deprived areas and social sports programs. Through these actions we create space.

Space to grow. Space to make friends. Space to improve both their physical and mental health.
Space to become who they are.

Johan Cruyff Institute

Sport, management and social work are three key words in the world of Johan Cruyff and basic pillars of his legacy. His own experience as a professional football player and later as a coach and advisor led Johan to devise a plan to help athletes to enter the working world at the end of their sports career and to promote the professionalization of management in the world of sport.

Johan launched his academic initiative, Johan Cruyff Institute, 20 years ago and since then has trained more than 9,000 athletes, sport managers and other professionals in sport management, sport marketing and sponsorship, football business and coaching.

Johan Cruijff ArenA
