With the collaboration of Johan Cruyff Institute as Academic Partner, the Sport Industry Forum 2023 will be held on October 4-5 at the WB Abu Dhabi by Hilton Yas Island to discuss the challenges facing the sports industry in the Arabian Gulf
On October 4-5, the WB Abu Dhabi by Hilton will host the Sport Industry Forum 2023 with the aim of identifying the challenges and opportunities offered by the sports industry in the increasingly active Persian Gulf region. The event, officially supported by the Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, will also have the support of Johan Cruyff Institute as an academic partner.
A total of 200 executives and stakeholders working in the sport business in the Gulf Cooperation Council, representing governments, brands, federations, clubs, rights holders, event organizers and sport venues, will meet to discuss eight main themes:
- UAE government priorities for sport in Abu Dhabi
- When sport, health and education come together
- Sustainability and social impact
- Saudi sport opportunities: golf, investments and active communities
- Leading brand strategies: why brands invest, their priorities and plans for the future
- Engaging the next generation: grassroots, schools and youth competitions
- Tech in sport: the rise of AI
- Healthy communities: a holistic approach to embed a healthy, active lifestyle
The involvement of countries from the United Arab Emirates and other Persian Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar in hosting international competitions has been increasing in recent years and is a growing trend. With a variety of speakers with an in-depth knowledge of the sports industry in the countries of the region, the Sport Industry Forum aims to act as a catalyst for the process of change in the sports sector, one of the main drivers of the local economy.
The Sport Industry Forum will feature many of the main drivers of this transformation model, offering relevant content, facilitating access to senior leaders in the sports world and encouraging interaction through open debates. The event will once again be supported by Johan Cruyff Institute as an academic partner, in its mission to professionalize the sports industry through sport management training.
