From 8 to 12 November, the Camp Nou will host the fifth edition of the Sports Tomorrow Congress, an initiative organized by Barça Innovation Hub and supported by Johan Cruyff Institute as academic partner. The event brings together the world of sport to explore, analyze and debate the current situation and future trends in the sports industry from different perspectives. Mariël Koerhuis, general manager of Johan Cruyff Institute, will moderate the panel entitled ‘The future of grassroots women’s football’, which will feature Maram Albutairi, former footballer and current manager of Eastern Flames FC in Saudi Arabia, and Mia Eriksson, journalist and football analyst from Sweden. The session will take place on 8 November at 2.30 p.m. in the Sala Roma.
“I feel excited about leading this discussion around the importance of grassroots women’s football and another relevant topics that we’re going to cover during the panel. It will be interesting to discover how different realities end up shaping the future of grassroots women’s football in diverse ways, while aiming for the same goal at the same time,” says Mariel Koerhuis.

This year, the Sports Tomorrow Congress is dedicated to women’s sport, in a hybrid edition that will combine the on-site experience at the Camp Nou with the possibility of attending virtually from anywhere in the world. It will focus on nine themes: the business of sport; medicine and physiotherapy; technology applied to sport; coaching; nutrition and performance; sports gastronomy and data analytics. In total, the congress will bring together a total of 150 panelists for more than 75 hours of content over five days.
Students of the Master in Football Business in partnership with FC Barcelona (BIH) will be able to attend the event free and other students and former students of Johan Cruyff Institute will be able to get a special discount to attend the congress, whether in person or virtually. All the information is available on the virtual campus and on the Alumni platform.
