
Brendan Teeling, Zachary Ellis-Hayden, Amal Chauhan, and Ashley Gooch are the Canadian sports professionals awarded scholarships to further their development in the sports industry beyond the pitch.
The third edition of the Johan Cruyff Institute and Premier Soccer Leagues Canada scholarship program has announced its recipients. Coaches, players, and club executives from football clubs affiliated with PSLC have been selected to receive scholarships that will provide them with the knowledge and skills needed to develop a strategic mindset and gain a deeper understanding of the sports industry.
“We are proud to continue our collaboration with Premier Soccer Leagues Canada to provide educational opportunities for professionals committed to the future of the sports industry. These scholarships reflect our commitment to developing talent and delivering an education that creates a meaningful impact on professional careers,” said Cristina Pales, Marketing and Communication Director at Johan Cruyff Institute.
The program offers both partial and full scholarships to study Johan Cruyff Institute academic programs during the 2026–2027 academic year.

Brendan Teeling

Brendan Teeling has been awarded a full scholarship to study the Master in Football Business Online.

Zachary Ellis-Hayden
Professional footballer at Waterloo United (Ontario Premier League). Born in Canada, he has represented Barbados at international level.
“Receiving this scholarship means a great deal to me both personally and professionally. Football has shaped my life through my experiences as a player and coach, and this opportunity allows me to continue growing within the game from a leadership and business perspective.”
Zachary Ellis-Hayden has been awarded a partial scholarship to study the Master in Football Business Online.

Ashley Gooch has been awarded a partial scholarship to study the Specialized Diploma in Football Business Online.
