Johan Cruyff Institute adds the Union of Professional Football Players of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SPFBiH) to its network of partners, to facilitate academic training in sport management for all its athletes and staff
Driven by its faithful mission to contribute to the professionalization of the sports industry, Johan Cruyff Institute opens its doors to the professional future of SPFBiH athletes after signing an agreement that will enable all the union’s football players and staff to obtain a significant discount on the academic programs in sport management, sport marketing and sponsorship, football business and coaching from Johan Cruyff Institute.
This agreement opens the range of opportunities for the two entities to collaborate in academic activities, webinars, case studies or visits, as well as the possibility of several internship positions at SPFBiH for students of Johan Cruyff Institute, depending on their availability.
The Union of Professional Football Players of Bosnia and Herzegovina was founded almost five years ago and already represents more than 600 athletes from all over the country. It was the brainchild of the now retired footballer, Aldin Džidić, created with the purpose of protecting the professional, labor, economic and social rights of the country’s elite football players, as well as offering professional guidance services, among other activities. They are currently members of FIFPro, the international representative organization that protects football players’ rights and interests.
Regarding the alliance, Tarik Trbić, secretary general of SPFBiH commented that “opportunities for education and preparing for life after a professional career are of great importance to us. This is why we are happy and proud to have signed a cooperation agreement with Johan Cruyff Institute, one of the leading institutions in sport management education around the world. We look forward to this cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experiences, because we honestly believe that the programs of this institution will benefit our members.”
Cristina Palés, marketing director of Johan Cruyff Institute, highlighted that “creating an alliance with SPFBiH means promoting sport management training among football players in Bosnia and Herzegovina who aspire to a future in the world of sport and providing them with opportunities for professional development. We are confident of the mutual benefit of this collaboration and believe that it will be a great opportunity for the growth and evolution of the sports sector in the country.”
