On Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 November, Johan Cruyff Institute will be present at the National Sports Fair (Nationale Sport Vakbeurs) with a stand (number 233) in the events hall in Gorinchem, in the heart of The Netherlands. The fair is a combination of the National Football Fair, the National Tennis Fair, the National Hockey Fair and the National Korfball Fair, all in one.

Directors, managers, treasurers, trainers, officials and volunteers from the world of sport will be in touch with suppliers of sports organizations, such as suppliers of turf, team wear and sponsor systems, and medical and hospitality suppliers. Besides being a platform for sport and bringing together people from the sports industry, the National Sports Fair will also provide plenty of entertainment. In the past years, there have been forums with national football players, personalities and trainers, such as Andy van der Meijde, Wilfred Genee, Jan van Halst, Regie Blinker and Jan Wouters, amongst others. Several seminars have also been held in cooperation with organizations such as the National Football Federation and the tax authorities.

After two days in Gorinchem, the Johan Cruyff Institute stand will move to the Werkspoorkathedraal in Utrecht, where the International Master Days, part of the Dutch Career Fair, will be organized on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 November. During the congress, participants can get to know the different universities offering Master programs and participate in workshops that can help them explore possibilities to study a Master. The Johan Cruyff Institute Amsterdam will be present with a stand on both days (number 5B) and a workshop.

‘How do I become a master at positioning myself?’

Henk Verschuur, manager of the Johan Cruyff Institute, will give two ‘Cruyffian’ workshops at the International Master Days entitled: ‘How do I become a master at positioning myself?’ On November 17, Henk’s workshop will be at 10.30-11.30 a.m. and on November 18, at 3.30-4.30 p.m.

Johan Cruyff always knew perfectly how to choose his position, both in the team and in the game. The Cruyffian workshop how to position yourself is about understanding in which position you can perform at your best. It does not matter if it is about performing in a team or managing, having a job interview or setting a personal goal. In all cases, you need to know how to position yourself.

Henk will give an insight into how you can position yourself better, based on a Cruyffian method combined with a taste of top sport. Henk says about the workshop: “It is important that you know how you position yourself for everything. If you aren’t clear about where you stand relative to who and what is happening around you, you are actually ‘the object’ without knowing it. Have you ever had a job interview, given a presentation or done an oral exam that made you think afterwards “I wish I had said this or that instead of …?” How often do you wonder “where do I stand?” after completing your studies? It would have been different if you could see in advance how you were positioned, because the difference between being ‘the object’ or ‘the first person singular’ is big”.

MASTER IN

Coaching

The Master in Coaching is developed for everybody who seeks self-knowledge and self-development with the aim to improve oneself as a (sport) coach and/or manager. This 7 month program is based on the vision of Johan Cruyff in which sport coaching is more than using tactical and technical knowledge. It is about yourself, the players & staff, the team and the environment. We believe that you can only coach others if you know how to coach yourself.
