Collaboration agreement with Andorra Esport Cluster

The Andorra Esports Clúster trusts that Johan Cruyff Institute’s experience in specialized academic training in sport management will bring great advantages to the more than 50 companies that are members of the cluster and to students who will have the opportunity to work on real projects

Johan Cruyff Institute and the Andorra Esports Clúster have reached a collaboration agreement that offers multiple advantages both to the more than 50 companies that are members of the cluster, and to students with a special interest in innovation and talent development, who will be able to work on real projects. The signing ceremony took place at the Ingeni Coworking Onix center in Andorra la Vella and was attended by Josep Marticella and Gemma Riu, president and manager of the Andorra Esports Clúster, respectively, and Víctor Jordán, academic director of Johan Cruyff Institute.

As a result of this agreement, member companies of the cluster will enjoy special discounts on academic programs offered by Johan Cruyff Institute, and will be able to access specific training according to the professional areas they are interested in reinforcing. The academic institution stands out for the way it implements real cases in its teaching methodology, challenging its students to provide solutions to business projects, another service that offers indisputable advantages for both the cluster and the students of Johan Cruyff Institute.

“Being able to offer the companies in the cluster the opportunity to have students on internships or able to join their work teams to develop projects that companies are carrying out here in the country is a clear ‘win-win’ for us” – Gemma Riu, manager of Andorra Esports Cluster

Speaking to the Andorran News Agency (ANA), Gemma Riu, manager of Andorra Esports Clúster, commented that “we believe that, together with Johan Cruyff Institute, being able to offer the entire sector of companies in the cluster, which today already includes more than 50 members, the opportunity to have students on internships or able to join their work teams to develop projects that companies are carrying out here in the country is a clear ‘win-win’ for us. It means being able to enjoy the talent of young students, fresh and with a drive for entrepreneurship and innovation.”

“This collaboration aims to bring academic training, talent and knowledge to the sports sector in Andorra and allows us to be part of the sports industry in a country where sport has been declared a Sector of National Interest” – Víctor Jordán, academic director of Johan Cruyff Institute

Víctor Jordán, academic director of Johan Cruyff Institute, explained that “this collaboration aims to bring academic training, talent and knowledge to the sports sector in Andorra and allows Johan Cruyff Institute to be part of the sports industry in a country where sport has been declared a Sector of National Interest. Andorra is in the spotlight. Obviously, esports is a rapidly emerging sector, there are not many experiences, but as one of the locations and places where there is a strong commitment to esports, Andorra has marked its spot on the map.”
