iSport Forum announces the five finalists for best startup

iSport Forum da a conocer sus cinco finalistas a la mejor startup - Johan Cruyff Institute

The iSport Forum jury, of which the Johan Cruyff Institute professor Irsan Widarto is a member, will choose the winner on March 17 at the premises of the National Institute of Physical Education of Catalunya (INEFC)

The jury of the iSport Forum, the first International Investment Forum of the Sport Industry organized by the private network of investors Seed&Click, has announced the five finalists for best startup. The finalists will defend their startup project on March 17 at the conference organized by the INEFC and will compete for a prize of €100,000 and receive the best advice to launch their startup.

The selection criteria of startups finalists were based on their innovation, feasibility, social impact, experience and attitude of the management team; and their communication skills. Of all projects received 62% were Spanish, 16% French, 6 % from the US and England, followed by countries such as Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Malta, Andorra and Lithuania. The average capital sought by the projects presented was of €450,000.

The 5 selected finalists that will be presenting on March 17th at 15h at the INEFC are:

  • FirstV1sion (Barcelona, Spain): First V1sion brings sports fans the best action of the major leagues directly from the point of view of the players that wear it’s Jersey Cameras.
  • LSEE (Ajaccio, France): It’s the first metabolic tracker in the world that helps people, from beginners to athletes, to find their way to lose boy fat and get optimal health.
  • SM Genomics (Barcelona, Spain): Personalize sport activity, improve performance and prevent injuries.
  • Vogo (Montpelier, France): a start-up in mobile technology for connected stadium, offering a compelling media experience for in-venue viewers.
  • WeFitter (Barcelona, Spain): is a Wellness platform that promotes, motivates and rewards active and healthy lifestyles.

The jury is composed of Carlos Costa, Manager of Rafael Nadal; Enric Jové CEO of McCann Worldgroup; Gabriel Masfuroll, Chairman of the Laureus Foundation Spain; Ernest Folch, Director of Sport; Sergio Jerez, CIO of Football Club Barcelona; Irsan Widarto, a professor at Johan Cruyff Institute; Yossi Moldawski, investor and owner of Hapoel Jerusalem Basketball; It will be responsible for evaluating the different startups and choose the best project of this first edition a prize of €100,000 will be.

The Johan Cruyff Institute is actively participating in iSport Forum 2016. Irsan Widarto, professor of innovation and entrepreneurship at the Johan Cruyff Institute, will sit on the jury, and the institution will award a full scholarship to study its Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Marketing Online, worth 4,375 euros.

The conference will count in the morning with three round tables, which involve experts and industry leaders which will present exclusively their next challenges in terms of innovation, nutrition, marketing, social media, sponsorship, gaming and entertainment. The iSport Forum assistants may attend for example presentations by Rayde Baez (Euroleague Basketball); Francisco Empis (Doyen Sports); Didac Lee (Inspirit and FC Barcelona); Enric Jové (McCann Worldgroup); Xavier Cortadellas (Gatorade); Yossi Moldawsky (Plus Ventures); Fabrice Doreau (Atos); Sergi Bonillo (Sanchez Casal Academy); Albert Saborido (Motorpress Rodale), Jorge Huguet (Playstation); David Serrahima (Octagon) among others.
