Johan Cruyff Institute will participate in the Paraguay Sport Summit as academic partner of the event and, in a panel of experts, will highlight the role of academic training as a basic pillar in the professionalization of the sports industry in the country
The Paraguay Sport Summit, the first sport management congress in Paraguay, will be held from December 15 to 17 in online format and will have the collaboration of Johan Cruyff Institute as academic partner of the event. The institution will provide its vision on the role of academic training as a basic pillar in the professionalization of the sports industry and will hosts a panel of experts in a session that will be streamed live on the 17th at 3pm (CEST).
Víctor Jordán, academic director of Johan Cruyff Institute, Marcos Picalló, manager of Barça Universitas, and Justo Villar, sports director of the Paraguayan national football team, will discuss the challenges and difficulties that athletes face in order to continue their involvement in sports once their careers as active professional players are over. Under the title ‘From the pitch to management, the game goes on’, the panel will focus on providing solutions so that this transition to the labor market is not only a professional opportunity for athletes, but a necessary asset to professionalize the sports industry with people who have devoted their best years to playing their sport.
The congress has been created with the clear objective of promoting the professionalization of sport management in the country, developing the local sports industry and creating networking opportunities in the Latin American and international markets. The Paraguay Sport Summit will have the support of institutions such as the Ministry of Sport and the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, as well as important private sector companies.
