The director of the Johan Cruyff Institute, Mariël Koerhuis, represented the institution in Belek (Antalya) and gave a presentation on educating the next generation of leaders in Football Business
The football industry once again met at an international event to participate in FIFEX, a convention held in the Turkish city of Belek (Antalya) on January 8, which Johan Cruyff Institute attended for two reasons. The director of the institution, Mariël Koerhuis, was part of the central panel of presentations and explained what makes the education offered by the Johan Cruyff Institute in Sport Management, and specifically in Football Business, different.
The second reason for our presence in Turkey was to receive the award as the ‘Greatest Contributor in Football Education’, a recognition that was given by the founder and director of FIFEX, Hür Dilber. “We believe Johan Cruyff was one of the most talented footballers of all time, and with the Cruyff Institute’s efforts he still is one of the most inspiring names. We think the Cruyff Insitute befits his dignity by creating an opportunity for people interested in the sport business, especially the football business, and by spreading his experiences through the World of Johan Cruyff. We are therefore happy to announce that we sincerely believe that the “Greatest Contributor in Football Education” award is going to the right place”.
For Mariël Koerhuis, it is “such an honor to receive this award from FIFEX in recognition of our contribution to football education. It is very gratifying for us to experience that our ongoing effort to professionalize the sports industry through education is being acknowledged internationally. Johan’s vision and nearly 20 years of devotion from teachers, staff and academic partners to vocational training, and graduate and postgraduate education in benefit of 9,000 student athletes and sports people worldwide, have led to this immense recognition”.
