Johan Cruyff Institute and Play and Train sign a collaboration agreement for the transfer of talent and services between the two entities
Play and Train joins the cartel of partner companies of the Johan Cruyff Institute after the signing of the agreement between the two entities. The president of Play and Train, José María Juncadella, and its founder and CEO, Sylvana Mestre, met today with the director of the Johan Cruyff Institute, Mariël Koerhuis, to formalize the agreement.
Play and Train was created in 2008 with the main objective of making it possible for people with disabilities and their families to exercise their right to have access to playing, learning and training in sports, elite and recreational activities, regardless of their abilities, gender or age. What is now a reality was once a project that came about in the classrooms of the Johan Cruyff Institute, as explained by its founder and CEO, Sylvana Mestre: “Play and Train was born in 2007 when I was studying my Master in Sport Management at the Johan Cruyff Institute and it was a dream that has turned into a successful non-profit company. To be signing an agreement now with the Johan Cruyff Institute, which gave me the necessary training to carry the project forward, fills me with pride and is a clear example of the quality offered by the institution”.
The president of Play and Train, José Mª Juncadella, says that “the signing of this agreement of mutual collaboration has a double meaning for Play and Train: both a great pride for the recognition of the work done and a strong incentive to continue creating sports programs of the highest quality for people with different abilities. Since the beginning of Play and Train, we have been able to count on the help of the Cruyff Foundation for our activity programs and many of our collaborators have passed through the classrooms of the Johan Cruyff Institute, so formalizing this relationship is another step that will make us both grow”.
“Part of the Johan Cruyff Institute’s mission is to professionalize the sports world by helping athletes, former athletes and sports professionals in general to develop and fulfill their aspirations in the sports industry through training,” recalls Mariël Koerhuis, director of the Johan Cruyff Institute. “Partnering with a social company like Play and Train, that we started hearing about in our classrooms when it was just a project, is very satisfying”.
