Students of the Johan Cruyff Institute visit Girona FC

Students of the Johan Cruyff Institute, visited Girona FC’s stadium Montilivi

Students of the different academic programmes, such as the Official Master Degree in Sport Management and the Master in Football Business in partnership with FC Barcelona, visited Girona FC’s stadium Montilivi, within the Facility management module.

The visit ended up with a masterclass by Girona’s Chief Executive Officer, Ignasi Mas-Bagà.

I think we have given you a vision of how a football club is managed, which in the end is a very corporate style of management, where decisions are made every day”.

You have seen that it is departmentalized like a normal company, the difference is that there is one department, the sports area, which is obviously very important and the one that helps us in the day-to-day to make the most important decisions together with the advice of the board of directors. Which players we should sign, what kind of coach we should sign, but in the end we have a common goal that we set ourselves every year. This year it is to establish ourselves in the first division, continue to develop young players, continue to grow both the fan base and commercially, and be financially sustainable”, commented Mas-Bagà.
