In its 2020 online edition, SportBiz Europe Live – Barcelona Edition presents a program full of content in which Johan Cruyff Institute, as an academic partner of the event, will have special prominence. The congress, scheduled for October 28 and 29, will be opened by our general manager, Mariël Koerhuis, who will also give the opening presentation in the session entitled ‘The global panorama of the sports industry: a picture of the five continents’. In her presentation (Wednesday, October 28, at 9.15am), Mariël will discuss current trends and perspectives in the industry, and the opportunities and challenges facing today’s professionals and the leaders of the future.
“The sports industry is being challenged at the moment, but at the same time it is being called upon as an engine of change because of its great capacity to generate opportunities and constructive dynamics. It is our task, as an institution dedicated to the professionalization of the sports industry through academic training, to detect those needs and challenges presented by the market and turn them into opportunities for the new generations who want to lead that change on a global scale,” says Mariël Koerhuis.
Johan Cruyff Institute will be joined by three professionals from the football industry to discuss ‘The Leaders of the Future’ on a panel scheduled for Thursday, October 29, at 1pm (CEST). Hugo Esteves (HR manager of FC Porto), Sharon Tamman (chief operations officer at Maccabi Tel Aviv FC) and Dorukhan Acar (board member of Galatasaray SK) will present their points of view on the three areas of discussion: the most required profiles in the football industry, talent detection and career development. Oliver Seitz, professor of our Master in Football Business in partnership with FC Barcelona, will act as moderator of the panel.
Our network of students and alumni will have special access to the event, which will also cover topics such as digital transformation, sport sponsorship, the power of data, fan engagement, broadcasting & media, personal branding and innovation in sport, among others.
