On May 22, the Cruyff Network Meeting 2025 will take place at the new offices of Johan Cruyff Institute, with the aim of strengthening the ties between alumni, students, faculty, and professionals linked to the sports sector
This event, which will coincide with the official inauguration of the new headquarters at Avenida del Tibidabo, 15 (Barcelona), will bring together the educational community with leading figures from the sports industry in a friendly and participatory format. The Cruyff Network Meeting 2025, which was also held last year, was designed to share experiences, generate synergies, and shape the future of the sector.
The 2025 edition of Cruyff Network Meeting, scheduled from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., will begin with a formal welcome by Xavier Trallero, Managing Director of Barcelona Sports Hub. This will be followed by an inspiring conversation between athletes and former students David Alegre and Laia Talarn.
David Alegre is a former Spanish field hockey player, who among other achievements, won a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. In 2015, he completed the University Master’s Degree in Sports Management at Johan Cruyff Institute and is currently the Marketing & Communications Director of the Federació Catalana de Golf. Laia Talarn is a former judoka who competed in prestigious tournaments such as the World Championship. In 2015, she also completed the University Master’s Degree in Sports Management and currently serves as the Marketing & Communication Director at the Royal Spanish Hockey Federation.
In their talk, David and Laia will reflect on leadership, teamwork, and high performance, sharing their personal and professional experiences in elite sport. Through their stories, they will highlight how these values are essential not only for success in sports but also for effective management and leadership in the professional world.
“The Cruyff Network Meeting is an opportunity to showcase the talent within our community, strengthen connections, and continue building the future of sport together through an innovative and collaborative lens,” says Edgar Romero, Corporate Relations at Johan Cruyff Institute.
An annual meeting point to inspire collaboration and drive the future of sport
In the second part of the Cruyff Network Meeting 2025, We Are Genius will be presented—a project led by Alejandro Gaviria and Felipe Hermosilla, alumni of the University Master’s Degree in Sports Management. This initiative seeks to build a community made up of students, alumni, faculty, and partners with the purpose of sharing a passion for sport and promoting the professionalization of the industry.
The event will conclude with a relaxed networking session designed to continue connecting in an informal setting. With this initiative, Johan Cruyff Institute reaffirms its commitment to establishing an annual meeting point that fosters the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and new collaborative opportunities among the various players in the sports ecosystem.
