Johan Cruyff Institute and the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL) reinforce their joint strategic commitment with an academic collaboration agreement
The two institutions have reached an agreement to collaborate through coordinated academic activities aimed at UTPL students, which will include providing UTPL students with access to the academic programs in sport management and sport marketing taught at the Johan Cruyff Institute and those in its portfolio of online programs. The terms of the agreement also include the commitment to organize workshops in Barcelona and Ecuador and, at the same time, offer UTPL students the possibility of studying the Master in Sport Management Online at the Johan Cruyff Institute with a discount on its official price.
The Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja is a higher education institution, founded in southern Ecuador in 1971, which aims to contribute to the sustainable development of the country, through quality education in two study modes: face-to-face and distance learning, and with undergraduate, postgraduate and continuous education programs. With its strong ties to academia, research, innovation and entrepreneurship, it is the Ecuadorian university with the largest presence in the country and greatest international projection through its network of university centers in New York, Madrid and Rome and an International Center for Training Authorities and Leaders (CIFAL Miami – UTPL) in the United States.
“Collaborations between academic institutions can be a very powerful tool to create value for society. The sum of knowledge and know-how from different perspectives enhances the creation of interesting synergies. Through this specific collaboration between the UTPL and the Johan Cruyff Institute we aim to continue professionalizing the country’s sports industry, promoting the continuous training of its professionals”, says the director of the Johan Cruyff Institute, Mariël Koerhuis.
For his part, the rector of the UTPL, José Barbosa Corbacho, highlights that “the agreement will provide access to specific academic programs, such as the Master in Sport Management Online at the Johan Cruyff Institute, and to different workshops to be developed in Barcelona and in several cities of Ecuador, for which I believe that the opportunities for academic growth, especially for professionals linked to any of the areas in the sport industry, are significant”.
