
Berta Ferreras and Abril Conesa (artistic swimming), and Hugo Arillo (taekwondo) will make use of the academic training scholarships granted to CAR Sant Cugat athletes by Johan Cruyff Institute to study the Master in Sport Marketing and Management Blended Barcelona
In order to promote the academic training of high-performance athletes, Johan Cruyff Institute will host this academic year three athletes from the CAR Sant Cugat to study the Master in Sport Marketing and Management Blended Barcelona. Olympic swimmers Berta Ferreras and Abril Conesa, and taekwondist Hugo Arillo have been chosen to benefit from the scholarships offered by Johan Cruyff Institute through its collaboration agreement with CAR Sant Cugat.
Berta Ferreras
With more than ten years of experience in the National Artistic Swimming Team, Berta Ferreras has won numerous medals in World Championships, including gold in Fukuoka 2023 and bronze in Budapest 2022 and Gwangju 2019. Throughout her career, she has also received numerous medals at European Championships. On the other hand, Ferreras holds a degree in Psychology, and specialized in Sports Psychology. “The transition to life after sport is a delicate moment for any athlete, and right now I see this moment in my life close. I am deeply passionate about the world of sport, and I believe that the opportunity of this scholarship to study the Master in Sport Marketing and Management Blended Barcelona at Johan Cruyff Institute will provide me with the knowledge and tools necessary to successfully face my professional future,” says Berta.
Abril Conesa
Abril Conesa participated for seven years in the National Artistic Swimming Team, during which she resided at CAR Sant Cugat. Throughout her career, she won two bronze medals at the World Swimming Championships Gwangju 2019 and Budapest 2022, and also at the European Swimming Championships: bronze in 2018 and silver in 2021. In parallel to her sports career, she is pursuing a degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, with professional experiences in Sports Technification Centers. “The Master in Sport Marketing and Management Blended Barcelona represents an excellent opportunity to acquire new knowledge and enrich my business concepts, necessary for my future and projects,” Abril affirms.
Hugo Arillo
The third CAR Sant Cugat athlete to be academically trained at Johan Cruyff Institute is Hugo Arillo, member of the National Taekwondo Team. Hugo won the gold medal at the European Games in Krakow 2023. In addition, he won a silver medal at the World Taekwondo Championships 2023, and was 4 times Spanish Senior Champion (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024). “I am very attracted to subjects of the Master in Sport Marketing and Management Blended Barcelona such as sports event management, financial management in sports organizations and sport marketing. I am sure that Johan Cruyff Institute can provide me with a lot of wisdom and training for future projects that I have in mind and would like to carry out,” says Hugo.
