Guaireña FC is providing its executive staff with customized academic training from Johan Cruyff Institute, a course on strategic management in sports organizations, and all its staff and athletes can benefit from an agreement that provides significant discounts on training in sport management
Johan Cruyff Institute and Paraguayan club Guaireña FC have signed a collaboration agreement that will allow the transfer of talent between the two entities. The management staff of the Paraguayan club receive academic training in strategic management in sports organizations tailored to their needs, and their administrative staff and athletes will have access to special discounts on all the Johan Cruyff Institute academic programs in sport management, sport marketing and sponsorship, football business and coaching.
Guaireña FC‘s leaders have decided to launch the agreement starting with their own training: an intensive six-week course created to develop and analyze the strategic, global and objective vision of the sports sector from a business point of view. The club, with only four years of history since its foundation, has been competing in the Paraguayan first division since January this year.
Luis Caceres Smith, president of Guaireña FC, expressed his satisfaction after the signing of the agreement: “It’s a great honor for us to receive training at this important academic institution and, particularly as president, it’s a dream come true to support and manage this type of agreement to train and update the club’s executives, players and staff.”
“The sports industry in Paraguay is in the process of development and football clubs increasingly understand the importance of academic training within this process. Guaireña FC is a clear example of this change of paradigm in the sector. We are delighted that its executive team has decided to specialize in order to meet the new challenges of sport management and to encourage its athletes to be part of this evolution as well. It is an honor to contribute to the professionalization of this market that has such potential,” said Edgar Romero, head of corporate relations at Johan Cruyff Institute.
