Johan Cruyff Institute, among the best Masters in Sport Management in Europe

Johan Cruyff Institute is once again among the most highly rated institutions, placed seventh in the ranking of Masters in Sport Management in Europe

The Master in Sport Management offered by the Johan Cruyff Institute is, for the seventh year in a row, among the most highly rated sport management programs in Europe. The institution occupies the seventh position in the ranking published annually by the prestigious magazine SportBusiness International, which evaluates the quality of the educational offer in sport management worldwide.

To prepare the ranking, the evaluation committee of SportBusiness International takes into account different variables: the satisfaction of students (regarding the quality of the support received during the program, the quality of the teaching staff and the quality of extra-curricular support); if students are employed in the sports industry (or in a position connected to sport) within six months after graduation; the score of each institution regarding its competence, the ratio of national and international students; the percentage of male and female students; the number of languages in which the program is offered; the average salary received in the three years after graduation; and the employment opportunities offered as a parallel service to the Master.

The programs of the Johan Cruyff Institute stand out among a selection of more than 500 presented proposals. The Master in Sport Management now occupies the 27th position of the top 40 worldwide, improving its ranking by 12 places with respect to last year.

Although only the on-campus programs are included in the SportBusiness International ranking, the magazine also values the online modality in its report, as an alternative to an educational offer that is becoming increasingly popular. In this sense, the magazine highlights the vision of our institution in an interview with our e-learning director, Víctor Jordan. “Today, 92% of our online students are working, and 60% come from the sports sector,” says Victor. “In my generation, we used to learn by reading and going to some place where a guy who knew more than us would give us information. Now, we have the possibility to learn 24 hours a day, feeding students from different resources, and perhaps there are too many sources and we need more guidance in the way how we transfer this information into real projects, by getting students in work placement. This is a way where the student is not just listening but doing, and receiving feedback from a guy who is running a club, or who is managing a company”.
