PRO Foro Industria y Deporte, an event for Spanish-speaking sports industry professionals, will be held on June 2nd and 3rd with the collaboration of Johan Cruyff Institute and LaLiga, and with Diario As as media partner
Continuing with its mission to professionalize the sports industry, promote networking and spread the word of the leading voices in the sector, Johan Cruyff Institute supports the initiative of 2PlayBook, organizer of the PRO Foro Industria y Deporte (professional industry and sport forum). The event will take place on June 2 and 3 in hybrid format: all the speakers will be filmed in a studio in Madrid and the two days will be broadcast via streaming to reach all those who want to participate in the forum, which will be free of charge.
“Our mission is the professionalization of the sports industry, and supporting meetings like 2PlayBook’s PRO Foro Industria y Deporte seems essential to us. Debate and the exchange of ideas and best practices among industry professionals is essential to drive change in an industry in constant evolution and with such a great economic and social impact, especially at this challenging time,” says Cristina Palés, marketing manager at Johan Cruyff Institute.

2Playbook aspires to be the largest community of Spanish-speaking sports industry professionals, connecting the entire sector to accelerate its growth and promote its professionalization, a mission that Johan Cruyff Institute has been developing for two decades through its programs in sport-focused professional training. “We deeply believe that intensifying the contact between professionals and the exchange of ideas is the greatest catalyst for a young industry and to show society that sport is an economic and social engine,” highlights Marc Menchén, director of 2PlayBook.
The event will address the challenges and opportunities facing the sports industry since the outbreak of the Covid pandemic, through round tables, dialogues and presentations. The public will be able to actively participate by sending their questions to the professionals who will be in the studio. Among the speakers who have confirmed their attendance are leaders and executives from the main international sports organizations: Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga; Alejandro Blanco, president of COE; Jordi Bertomeu, president of EuroLeague; Haritz Kerejeta, CEO of Baskonia-Alavés; David Serrahima, general manager of Octagon Iberia; Gabriel Sáez, executive president of GO fit; Javier Guillén, general manager of La Vuelta; Sergio Nieto, retail general manager of Legends-Real Madrid; José Hidalgo, president of Adesp; and Mercedes Coghen, director of Spain Sports Global, among many others. Some athletes will also be present, such as Cristina Gutiérrez, an outstanding driver in the last Dakar Rally.

The PRO Foro Industria y Deporte will analyze the growing convergence between sport and entertainment, and how it is transforming the competitive pyramid worldwide and the rules of sport sponsorship. The challenges of the digital transformation in elite sport will also be analyzed, as well as the points of convergence between traditional sport and eSports. In turn, sessions are planned that will break down how sport can be a loudspeaker and a determining sector in the improvement of health and the attainment of the sustainability goals included in the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
