Johan Cruyff Institute participa en el Sports Technology Symposium de Barça Innovation Hub

Professor Irsan Widarto will be in charge of moderating the panel discussion on ‘data-driven decision making’

Johan Cruyff Institute will attend the fourth edition of the Sports Technology Symposium, organized by the Barça Innovation Hub, which will take place on the 15th and 16th of November at the Camp Nou facilities. Irsan Widarto, professor of the Johan Cruyff Institute’s Master in Football Business in partnership with FC Barcelona, will represent our institution as moderator of the panel dedicated to ‘data-driven decision making’.

In a work environment in which the possibilities of analysis offered by new technologies is unlimited, knowing what data to collect and how to do it is important, but what’s much more important is knowing how to analyze it. In the first panel of the afternoon session (from 3:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.), Finn Bradshaw (Cricket Australia), Joao Copeto (Sport Lisboa e Benfica), Jed Ng (Rakuten) and Don Vu (Major League Baseball) will discuss specific cases.

Other topics of debate that will be brought to the table in this edition are: intelligent stadiums, sports analytics, player development, innovation in the industry, the obsession with mobile devices and future trends.

The Sports Technology Symposium will open its doors on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude its fourth edition on Friday at 1:45 p.m. The Barça Innnovation Hub expects to repeat the success of last year’s edition, which attracted over 600 professionals to a congress devoted to technology, innovation and future trends in the world of sports. The hashtag #FCBSportsTech, with more than 53 million impressions, was a trending topic on Twitter in Spain.
