Johan Cruyff Institute brings professional training to grassroots football as sponsor of The CUP Pineda 2022

Participants in The CUP Pineda 2022 will have access to five scholarships for professional training at Johan Cruyff Institute, sponsor of this grassroots football tournament directed and organized by Manu Campás, alumnus of the Blended Master in Marketing and Sport Management (Barcelona)

Johan Cruyff Institute supports sporting events and initiatives that consider academic training as a value and the grassroots football tournament The CUP is one of them. The CUP Pineda 2022, a youth competition directed and organized by Manu Campás, alumnus of the Blended Master in Marketing and Sport Management (Barcelona), will be sponsored by Johan Cruyff Institute for the sixth consecutive year.

The tournament will be held at the Can Xaubet sports complex in Pineda de Mar, a small town up the coast from Barcelona, from August 18 to 21, and will bring together eight teams that have chosen this event to prepare for the upcoming season against top quality opponents: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, RCD Espanyol, Girona FC, Cádiz CF, Aqua Hotel FC (a club from Pineda de Mar), and Pafos FC from Cyprus and the Japanese team Sagan Tosu, who will provide an international touch.

FC Barcelona has participated in all editions.

As the main sponsor and maximum exponent of professional training, one of the main values promoted by the tournament, Johan Cruyff Institute will offer a scholarship for the Online Postgraduate Diploma in Football Business to one of the members of the winning team, and four scholarships for the Online Football Business Fundamentals to one member of the other participating clubs. The commercial director of Johan Cruyff Institute, Román Pascual, will be in charge of handing out the scholarships after the final on August 21.

“Without the Blended Master in Marketing and Sport Management, it would not be a reality today; the resources and tools that I acquired during the program I continue to apply year after year” – Manu Campás, ditrector of The CUP

To be able to create and establish The CUP, training was key for the tournament director. “This is the sixth edition and the tournament is becoming more and more consolidated. Without the Blended Master in Marketing and Sport Management, it would not be a reality today. The resources and tools that I acquired during the program I continue to apply year after year,” says Manu.

Esports3 will broadcast all the matches live and for those who want to experience the competition live from the stands, admission will be free.
