New call for applications for The Cruyff Athlete Fund scholarships

Today the application period opens for scholarships for the second edition of The Cruyff Athlete Fund, a scholarship fund that Johan Cruyff Institute makes available to athletes who want to professionalize sport management

With just a few days till the start of the new academic year 2019-20, Johan Cruyff Institute reopens its scholarship campaign The Cruyff Athlete Fund, a scholarship fund aimed at professional athletes from minority disciplines and athletes over 30 years old that are about to retire or already retired, who need help to make the transition to management positions in the world of sport.

As one of the most important pillars of its CSR program, Johan Cruyff Institute launches the second edition of this initiative as part of the legacy of Johan Cruyff, who was convinced that, with the proper academic training, athletes are the best people to professionalize the sports industry.

Candidates will be eligible for all the online postgraduate and master’s programs in sport management, sport marketing and sponsorship and football business offered by Johan Cruyff Institute for the September-October edition of the 2020-21 academic year. The period for submitting applications will end on May 15, 2020, and the winners will be announced on June 15.

Palestinian Olympic swimmer Sabine Hazboun, Greek volleyball player Maria Lamprinidou and Nepalese cricket player Asmita Kharel were some of the athletes selected in the first edition of The Cruyff Athlete Fund. All three will study the Online Master in Sport Management 2019-20 with a full scholarship.
