Designed and organized by CrowdSport, the 2021 Sports Investment Trends Study provides stakeholders in the sports industry with information about the market and its new opportunities
Johan Cruyff Institute, in its role as a stakeholder in the sports industry, will collaborate in the Estudio 2021 de Tendencias de Inversión en el sector Deporte (2021 Sports Investment Trends Study), the results of which aim to offer an overview of the current situation of the sports industry, available tools for entrepreneurs and new investment opportunities. The study has been designed by the company CrowdSport and is supported by the Spanish Sport Association (AFYDAD) and the Barcelona City Council.
Esports, sports technology, health and food, and sports services for seniors were the most prominent sectors for investment trends in 2020, ahead of equally emerging activities such as e-commerce, home fitness and wearables. New forms of consumption as a result of the Covid pandemic and periods of lockdown were clearly reflected in last year’s report.
The sports sector is an industry of opportunities where consumers are increasingly demanding new products and services. Knowing their tastes and needs is crucial, not only to improve the existing offer but also to support new projects and startups that add value to the market.
As in 2020, the data from the responses obtained will be used to prepare this year’s study, which will be published online and will be available to download free of charge for all those who have participated in the survey.
