Johan Cruyff Institute extends its partnership with World Football Summit as Academic Partner for 2020, reinforcing its commitment to professionalize the football industry together with one of the most prestigious summits worldwide
Johan Cruyff Institute is proud to announce the renewal of its partnership as Academic Partner of World Football Summit for 2020. We have been part of this prestigious summit since the very beginning, hosting one of their panels at the flagship event in Madrid, bringing to stage big names like Jorge Valdano, Roberto Martínez, Christian Karembeu or Shabnam Mobarez, among others. In 2019, Johan Cruyff Institute joined World Football Summit in its international expansion as part of the World Football Summit Asia Expo Area and next year we’ll take a step further.
Johan Cruyff Institute will be Academic Partner at World Football Summit Africa, World Football Summit Asia and World Football Summit 20. In the fifth edition of the event in Madrid, we will once again host a panel which will be focused on underlining the need for professional athletes to continue with their academic education in order to face the challenges of life after sport.
This has been the main principle of our institution founded by football legend Johan Cruyff, an inspiring leader and one of the most influential figures in the recent history of sport. Johan firmly believed that no one was better suited to serve the best interests of sport than someone with the heart of an athlete, but he was also convinced that in order to fulfill that role athletes needed to improve their education.
Cristina Palés, marketing manager of Johan Cruyff Institute, wants to highlight that “we are delighted to renew our agreement with World Football Summit as an Academic Partner for another year. We are committed to the professionalization of the football industry through educational training, and being part of a forum like the one provided by World Football Summit is key to bring our mission and vision to this industry in constant change and growth.”
Football legends Edwin van der Sar, currently CEO at Ajax FC; Michael Reiziger, Headcoach at Young Ajax, or Gianluca Vialli, current delegation chief of Italian National Football Team, are among our alumni. So is Daniel Martin, currently serving as Group Chief Financial and Operations Officer at Al Jazira Sports Club who says that “completing the Masters in Football Business in partnership with FC Barcelona assisted me greatly in securing a new role back in the Football business with a club. Not only did I return to the industry with an enhanced skillset due to the world class teaching and latest industry insights learned on the course but I also added further credibility to my CV in the eyes of existing leaders in the sport as well as an enhanced network to reach out to when trying to secure the right opportunity.”
